Summary

In the village chief's home, villagers attempt to subdue Bo Gui, whom Chu Hu claims is possessed by a violent evil spirit. As they try to bind her, Bo Gui resists fiercely, leading to a brutal suggestion from Chu Hu to smash her head with a hammer to subdue the spirit. After being struck three times, Bo Gui seemingly goes limp but then transforms, revealing fox ears and tails, and unleashes a horrific attack on the villagers, killing them all in an instant. Liao Yong Hong realizes she is a test subject capable of absorbing energy. Just as he grasps the situation, the scene resets, and the villagers return to their previous state, with Chu Hu stating Bo Gui is still possessed. Outside, Zhou Zhen observes various groups of villagers, some appearing to flee and others armed and ready for confrontation. He decides to head to the blacksmith's shop for clues, but is confronted by a commanding villager who demands the brick he holds.
