Chapter 26: A Day in the Life of Zhou Xiaoshu. [26]
Summary
In Chapter 26, Gao Fei Hu expresses anger over the actions of Hamagura Village, which has been taking people from Flying Tiger Village. His brother, Gao Fei Bao, suggests they send their own men to Hamagura to turn the tables and seize their resources. Meanwhile, Zhou Xiao Shu, a young bandit from Flying Tiger Village, is sent to Hamagura Village to join forces. Upon arrival, he experiences the village's surprising hospitality, including dumplings for lunch, which he hadn't had in a long time. Despite the hard work, he enjoys the meals and is given five pounds of grain upon leaving, which impresses his skeptical village. Zhou Xiao Shu contemplates returning to Hamagura for more food, especially given the poor harvest back home. The chapter concludes with him falling asleep, dreaming of better days.Full content
