The Grand Wei Court.

Chapter 258: Predictable Chaos. [257]

Summary

Zhao Hong Run, feeling gloomy, reflects on the implications of the Qi Kingdom's support for his sixth brother's son from the Ji family. Despite his father's loss of influence, he contemplates the necessity of sacrifices within the royal family for national interests. He learns that the Wei Kingdom has signed a 'Qi Wei Alliance Agreement,' which obligates Wei to assist Qi in wars against Chu and Han, stripping Wei of autonomy. While the agreement includes compensation for military expenses and territorial gains, Zhao Hong Run finds the terms repulsive. He burns the agreement to prevent leaks, while Mi Jiang expresses her disinterest in the alliance, viewing her state as already doomed.
