Chapter 258: Chen Jingji Enters Dao, Legal Name Chen Zongmei. [258]
Summary
Chen Jing Ji, a man without a home or trade, squandered his daily 500 coins on food and drinks until he was beaten and robbed by soldiers, leaving him destitute. After begging on the streets, he encountered the scholar Wang Xing An, who urged him to pursue small business instead of begging. Although Chen agreed, he soon wasted the aid given to him on food and gambling. Eventually, Wang Xing An offered him a chance to become a disciple at a temple dedicated to Master Yan, where he could learn and find stability. After a day's journey, Chen arrived at the temple, where he was welcomed by the Taoist Priest Ren Dao Shi and formally accepted as a disciple, receiving the name Chen Zong Mei.Full content
