Chapter 257: Bo Yan's Military Strategy, the Water Line Formation . [256]

Summary

Cao Cao's secret weapon, the Great Halberd Warriors, decimated Han Sui’s Western Liang cavalry by targeting their mounts, rendering the cavalry ineffective. Despite Han Sui’s attempts to control the retreating forces, particularly the Qiang cavalry, the situation worsened. Pang De and Ma Dai, however, skillfully used mounted archers to harass the halberdiers, avoiding direct clashes. Meanwhile, Ma Chao fought relentlessly, wounding several generals, but eventually Xu Chu managed to defend Cao Cao. Pang De, facing Xu Chu, bravely fought but eventually called for a retreat when the Qiang scattered. On the other side, Liu Mang and Lu Xun devised a plan to counter the powerful halberdiers. Lu Xun, a military genius, proposed leading the remaining cavalry in a strategic maneuver. With their backs to the Weishui River, Lu Xun decided to use the "Water Margin" formation to force a decisive confrontation, while motivating the disheartened Xiliang cavalry to follow their leadership in the face of overwhelming odds.
