Summary

Zheng Jiu and his companions, Liang Shiye and A Ning, encounter a mysterious poison that causes Liang to turn black and A Ning to turn green. After Zheng Jiu uses his blood to cure them, they speculate about the strange nature of the poison, which seems linked to a corpse parasite. They decide to rest at a temple and head back the next day. Upon returning to the city, Zheng Jiu buys supplies and prepares for another journey to Guangxi, following a lead from Wu Xie. After several days of travel through stunning landscapes, he finally reaches A Gui's home in the Yao village.
