Summary

After returning to the village, Luo Yu seeks help, revealing his wife Yi Jing's mysterious pregnancy and subsequent burial by fearful villagers who believed she carried a ghost child. Despite his efforts to uncover the truth, villagers refuse to help him dig up her grave. The narrator, sensing the villagers' guilt and fear, decides to investigate further. Together with Zhao Xiaomin, they encounter Yi Jing's spirit, who communicates through ghost language after the narrator consumes clay pills. The spirit's sorrowful cries reveal her plight, prompting the narrator's determination to assist her.
