Summary

Emperor Ming of Han's son, Liu Zhi, ascends the throne and summons Master Kasyapa and Master Fang Huo Shan to guide the deceased emperor's spirit. Kasyapa hastily travels to Luoyang, supported by his disciple Guang Xiao. Upon arrival, they learn that Liu Zhi desires a simple memorial service without disturbing ancestral customs. Kasyapa wishes to discuss Buddhism with Huo Shan, but the audience is delayed due to the emperor's fatigue. Meanwhile, a family outside Luoyang celebrates the birth of a daughter, while Ren San and his companions prepare to teach the father a lesson for his complaints about having daughters.
