Summary

The story follows Ning Cai Chen, a talented painter who recreates a vivid painting of Nie Xiao Qian. Their relationship gradually develops through nightly conversations in a dilapidated temple. When Ning Cai Chen decides to leave for an exam, Nie Xiao Qian becomes emotional and mysteriously disappears. In a nearby town, Ning Cai Chen sells his paintings and meets Yan Chi Xia, a mysterious swordsman who transforms from a rugged appearance to a refined young master, strikingly resembling someone from the narrator's modern life.
