Chapter 24: The Manor Blood Case. [24]

Summary

During the Republican Era, a massacre occurred at Cuiyun Mountain Villa, owned by the wealthy Old Master Lin. Over ten family members were killed, and valuables were stolen. Investigators Mo Wen Xuan and Su Qing arrived to find a gruesome scene. They interviewed a servant who mentioned a peddler's visit and discovered an unfinished letter hinting at a business rivalry with Boss Zhao. After questioning Zhao, they found no leads and returned to the villa, where they uncovered clues suggesting the murderer had dined there. A maid recalled seeing strangers nearby. Their investigation led them to a ruined temple, where they encountered bandits who confessed to the massacre, motivated by the Lin family's wealth. Justice was served for the Lin family.
