Summary

Yuan Zhou wanted to taste Mister Ma's famous soup, but Mister Ma refused to cook for him. Yuan Zhou met an old man who told him that Mister Ma hasn't cooked in years and is very eccentric. He goes to other people's homes to eat and is always finding fault with their cooking. Yuan Zhou learned that Mister Ma's ancestors were imperial chefs and had cooked for the emperor. The old man also told Yuan Zhou that Mister Ma had refused to take on apprentices and was always running his mouth. Yuan Zhou came up with an idea to make clear broth noodles using the old man's stove and ingredients. He offered the old man and a small boy a bowl, and they enjoyed the noodles. Yuan Zhou then took a bowl to Mister Ma, who was initially dismissive but eventually sat down to eat.
