Summary

Li Su contemplates using firearm schematics as a bargaining chip to marry Dong Yang, but he's hesitant due to concerns about the potential consequences of introducing firearms to the Tang Dynasty. Li Su spends his time indoors, tending to his greenhouse, trying to solve the lighting problem that's hindering the growth of green vegetables during the winter. His dog, Tianci, is lazy and pampered, often lying by his side. When Cheng Chumo arrives, Li Su explains his method of growing green vegetables in winter using trellises. Cheng Chumo is interested and decides to try it. A young woman, a famous healer in Chang'an City, approaches them and recognizes Tianci as an unusual dog. She senses that the dog may hold the key to unlocking a great secret. Cheng Chumo is fascinated by Tianci and wants to raise and eventually eat it, but Li Su decides to keep the dog for now.
