Chapter 235: The Royal Uncle's Hospitality, Zhang Song Presents Shu. [234]
Summary
In the chapter, Liu Bei hosts a grand gathering of his military and civil officials, including Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and Zhao Yun. Zhang Song, a representative from Shu, attends the banquet and is deeply moved by the warmth and sincerity of Liu Bei's camp, contrasting it with the cold reception he received from Cao Cao. Throughout the banquet, Zhang Song is honored by multiple toasts from the generals, reinforcing his belief that Liu Bei is the true hero worthy of leading Shu. Despite being drunk, Zhang Song recognizes Liu Bei's integrity and commitment to righteousness. The next day, Zhang Song offers Liu Bei a map of Shu and proposes to help Liu Bei take over the region by persuading Liu Zhang, its weak ruler. Although Liu Bei hesitates out of loyalty to his kin, his adopted son Liu Mang, who perceives the importance of the offer, encourages further consideration of the plan.Full content
