Summary

Shi Mu is restless at the inn, having repeatedly tried to meet Ximen Xue at the Tong Tian sect branch without success. One night, Jin Xiao Chai visits him and offers to take him to see Ximen Xue. They arrive at the sect, where they are allowed to enter without hindrance. Jin Xiao Chai waits outside while Shi Mu enters a courtyard, where he meets Ximen Xue. They share a conversation over tea, discussing Shi Mu's escape from danger and Ximen Xue's aspirations for the upcoming Ascension Ceremony. Shi Mu confesses his feelings for her, but Ximen Xue urges him to forget about her and focus on his path. They talk about cultivation and the challenges of advancing to higher ranks in their world. As they walk in the garden, the rain begins to fall, and after an enlightening conversation, they part ways, with Ximen Xue expressing hope to meet again. Shi Mu leaves with a sense of longing as Ximen Xue watches him go, before disappearing into the rain.
