Chapter 232: Eastern Expedition Failure. [235]

Summary

Zhai Rang, leader of the Wa Gang army, is ambushed while preparing to rendezvous with Shan Xiong Xin. Despite his elite forces, the Wa Gang soldiers face a fierce assault from the Sui army, led by Zhang Xu Tuo. As the battle intensifies, Zhai Rang realizes the dire situation and attempts to charge forward, only to encounter heavily armored soldiers led by Qin Yong. Amidst the chaos, Zhai Rang is wounded and forced to retreat, leading to the collapse of the Wa Gang formation. Zhang Xu Tuo decides to focus on the Wa Gang's supplies rather than pursuing Zhai Rang. Later, Shan Xiong Xin approaches the Sui army to negotiate a peaceful withdrawal from Ji Bei County, recognizing their shared past with Qin Qiong. After some discussion, a ceasefire is agreed upon, allowing the Wa Gang army to retreat without further conflict, marking the end of their eastern campaign.
