Chapter 23: Caught the Person, But the Case Remains Unsolved!. [23]
Summary
Zhao Yi Zhou, initially thinking the corpses would wash away, found them floating in the sewers the next day. He attempted to divert suspicion by blaming the cooking oil incident, knowing the police would eventually investigate him. Planning to flee, he killed an elderly man in hiding, dismembering and disposing of the body. Li Yi suspected Qian Xiao Man's involvement in the murder, but lacked evidence. Despite Zhao Yi Zhou's confession, Li Yi questioned why he would take the blame when Qian Xiao Man, who was pregnant, could avoid the death penalty. The investigation faced pressure due to public interest, but Li Yi insisted on further inquiry, revealing his critical role in uncovering the suspects.Full content
