Summary

Bai Ze is perplexed by a decaying corpse that has surprisingly minimal odor and seems to be surrounded by moving sand, which he realizes are insect-like creatures. After throwing the corpse into a pool, he examines a stone tablet that bears bloodstains, which mysteriously vanish. He discovers Sanskrit translations, identifying them as the Rebirth Mantra, suggesting rituals for the dead. As he searches for an exit, he finds only a stone wall and chaotic footprints indicating others had been trapped. Returning to the stone tablet, he senses a hidden passage beneath it. When he pricks his finger on thorns, his blood alters the atmosphere, and he senses something ominous approaching, culminating in the emergence of a tentacle-like creature from the pool.
