Chapter 222: "Secret Order of Huai Mountain: Troops Entering Wu Domain". [224]
Summary
The scout reported that the San Miao Lian Jun's light cavalry had retreated, allowing Bai Wa to inform the great lord of the Huai Shan clan. The great lord, with his bodyguards, rushed towards the Wu clan's territory but encountered a Xu Zhou garrison camp. The camp's commander, Bai Fu Chang, was cautious and initially refused entry, suspecting the group might be spies. After verification of the great lord's military symbols and command tokens, he was allowed in. The great lord explained he was sent by the imperial court to mobilize troops against the Jiuli clan. Bai Fu Chang, realizing the great lord's importance, welcomed him and arranged for his soldiers to rest. The great lord decided to stay at the camp, believing it would serve as a good defensive position while awaiting reinforcements. His personal bodyguards felt secure, knowing the Wu clan's great lord would honor the great lord's status upon learning of his presence.Full content
