Summary

The next morning, Yi Fan wakes up in a carriage next to Meng Yao. After ensuring his belongings are intact, he steps outside to a beautiful day. Uncle Hu greets him and comments on his tattered clothes and broken sword, suggesting he change his outfit. Yi Fan, amused by the suggestion to discard his sword, opts to keep it. After changing into new clothes, he appears refreshed and heroic. Uncle Hu notices a scroll Yi Fan is holding, which turns out to be made of valuable silkworm silk and possibly a secret manual for cultivating immortality. Uncle Hu advises Yi Fan to keep the scroll safe. They discuss their journey to Xuzhou, which will take about seven or eight days. Suddenly, a young swordsman from the Sword Tower rides past them, surprising both Yi Fan and Uncle Hu.
