Summary

Song Jiang struggles with the decision of how to respond to the death of Chao Gai, fearing that attacking officials would lead to disaster. Wu Yong suggests a strategic plan to attack from two fronts, but Song Jiang prefers to negotiate with Yang Jian. He believes they can leverage the Emperor's birthday to secure safe passage for gifts and agree to withdraw from certain territories. Meanwhile, Li Yan Qing attempts to assassinate Yang Jian but decides to infiltrate the Song army instead. He disguises himself as an archer named Chen Ping. Upon entering the camp, he witnesses the decay of the army's structure. After a confrontation with the ruthless fire leader Zhang Hong, Li Yan Qing kills him and convinces the other soldiers to help him bury the body before an assembly call is made, indicating that Yang Jian is preparing to act.
