Summary

Mei Lun wakes Yin Re from a deep sleep, revealing they have traveled to the foot of the central peak after escaping the corpse monsters. Yin Re discovers that his injuries have healed during the sleep. They discuss the central peak, which is sacred to the Storm Giants, and learn that only those of legendary status can ascend. Mei Lun tests the defenses of the mountain, finding that thunder and lightning attacks will occur if they try to climb without following the designated path. They find a staircase and encounter three groups of individuals, including a giant, humans, and orcs. A human offers to team up, but Mei Lun declines. As they observe others climbing, they realize that understanding the thunder rules may aid in the ascent. Mei Lun decides to climb, using his abilities to withstand the thunder and lightning, while contemplating the effects of the invasion on the rules of the sacred ground. After a long climb, he reaches the first layer of thunderclouds and sees the Thunder Palace, where he spots his teammates Vic and Tiana, although Xin Ke and Lucas are missing.
