Chapter 211: Plotting Against Wucheng (1). [214]

Summary

Pei Xingyan leads a group of fifty cavalrymen through the gentle hills near Wucheng County, resting in a pine forest after a long journey. He sends scouts to locate enemy patrols and learns of a group of twenty brigands at the foot of Fengshan. The Sui cavalry ambushes the brigands, resulting in the deaths of most of them, while Pei Xingyan captures two scouts. Later, he meets Zhang Xuan, who interrogates the scouts for information about the Wucheng County commander. As night falls, Zhang Xuan surveys the county town's defenses and contemplates strategies for a siege, considering the challenges posed by the icy walls. He discusses potential tactics with his officers, ultimately deciding to implement his own plan while keeping their options open for future strategies.
