Summary

In the Su Mansion, Su Bai returns early from the Prince's residence, greeted warmly by Little Carp and Qin Lian'er. He learns that aside from some gifts from the old Guo Gong, nothing significant has happened. Su Bai discusses the military camp's unpleasant conditions with Ge Li, who is disappointed to hear about it. He then meets Old Xu, who informs him about the mansion's normalcy and warns him about the suspicious activities of Emperor Chen and the Prince. Su Bai expresses interest in helping the bandit Ban Bian Yue, whose subordinate is captured by the Black Water Army. Old Xu cautions that she may not easily submit, but Su Bai believes he can persuade her.
