Summary
Shen Zhongping, overwhelmed with emotion, expresses his insecurities about losing his wife, Lei Yinniang, while they engage in a playful argument. The narrator feels out of place and decides to leave, but Lei Yinniang insists on his presence, hinting at the dangers of the Mystic Realm. Shen Zhongping suggests that if the narrator remains a Lama, he should take their unborn son, which is met with resistance. The narrator, aware of Lei Yinniang's manipulations, chooses to leave despite their pleas. As he walks away, he hears whispering and confronts the couple's ghostly antics, accidentally firing a gun in the darkness, fearing he might have harmed them.
