Summary

Zhou Zhen confronts two powerful members of the "Ember Order," realizing that he must join them to protect Tao Nan Ge. He agrees to join and is given a black metal ring, symbolizing his new alias "Sui Shi," and a fragment of a Klein bottle, which serves as a warning against betrayal. He inscribes his name on the glass shard, which disappears, and he receives a vial of memory liquid. Zhou Zhen questions the organization about the revival of Sister Nan and the death of Zhou Jian Qiang, revealing underlying suspicions and mysteries. After injecting the memory liquid, he experiences intense pain and transforms into a creature of numbers on one side, while the other remains human. As he contemplates chasing after Shi Guang and Ji Yu, he has a vision of a disturbing underground operating room where he performs surgery on a man suspended in a blood-filled tank. The chapter ends with Zhou Zhen recalling the familiar sound waves from his past.
