Chapter 204: Leave a Footprint [205]
Summary
Han Qi Guang led a group of strong young men from New Spring Village to patrol the surrounding mountain peaks, where over ten restricted areas were marked with red ribbons. These ribbons, tied every ten years, had kept the village safe from wild wolves for nearly a century. However, upon discovering that some ribbons had deteriorated over time, Han Qi Guang's initial anger towards a potential culprit diminished. He believed the villagers were honest and that wild animals were likely responsible for the damage. During the patrol, Han Qi Guang confronted Han De Min about the poor quality of the ribbons, leading to a punishment where Han De Min was whipped for the subpar fabric. Amidst this, Shen Jiao resisted being shielded from the scene and reacted angrily towards Han Qi Xiu, who had lifted her to see better. The chapter illustrates themes of community responsibility, the consequences of neglect, and the dynamics of village life.Full content
