Summary

Qi Hang arrives at the eastern gate of the city with Lord Mao's group, which is preparing to travel through the desert. They stop at Watchtower Village to rest before continuing their journey. After five days, they face a choice between entering a potentially dangerous oasis or staying outside, risking a sandstorm. They decide to enter the oasis, which initially seems safe. However, a scream awakens them to find a person ensnared by deadly vines. An elder explains they are in a feeding ground for a dangerous plant. Master Mao instructs everyone to escape quickly, leading to a chaotic retreat where many are lost, but supplies remain untouched.
