Summary

Changtu Station is bustling as Commissioner Shen Lian arrives, only to be mistaken for Wu Lao Er. The county chief, He Fu Sheng, is eager to assist but soon realizes his error. Shen, on a mission from the Marshal to inspect bandits, dismisses the county officials and heads out with his soldiers. They stop at the foot of a mountain, where locals warn about wild men inhabiting it at night. Despite warnings, Shen remains undeterred, believing their strength and firepower are sufficient. A comedic scene unfolds as Liao Neng, a local, is beaten into compliance about ascending the mountain, while others debate the truth of local legends regarding wild men and past tragedies. Shen's group prepares for their journey up the mountain, undaunted by potential dangers.
