Judgment of Dayu.
Chapter 20: "Hero of the Sea of Flames: Winds and Clouds of Liangshan". [22]
Summary
After Sanmiao's elimination, Dayu ordered Yi to investigate bandits in the mountains, with troops struggling to capture them. The Ji Zhou garrison proposed using fire to flush out the bandits, but Yi hesitated due to concerns for the Sanmiao brothers. Dayu ultimately approved the fire tactic, but it spiraled out of control, leading to the death of the bandits and the Sanmiao brothers. Dayu mourned their loss and ordered a monument in their honor, while Qi delivered condolences to the Sanmiao tribe. The tribe's chief grieved and prepared for the brothers' funeral, suspecting foul play in their deaths. Years later, it was revealed the deceased bandits had no ties to the Sanmiao brothers. With this matter resolved, Dayu turned his attention to the Hong Shan chief, planning to undermine him during a visit to the treasury, where he feigned friendliness while secretly plotting his downfall.Full content
