Summary
The narrator, feeling anxious and aware of trouble after Widow Yang's death, visits her grave, where he discovers blood-soaked soil linked to a chastity tablet. Realizing the tablet is cursed and connected to grievances, he deduces the village chief's involvement in Widow Yang's death. After performing rituals to sever the connection between the tablet and the grave, he finds peace restored. Later, he learns the village chief's wife reported the chief for his affair with Widow Yang, leading to his demise.
