Summary

Zhang Xuan informs General Zhang Xu Tuo that the Bohai Society has approached him but assures the General he will not join them. He requests the General's help in meeting someone from the society to uncover an important secret. After some deliberation, the General agrees to the meeting. Later, Zhang Xuan visits the Yuelai Inn to find Madam Gao, who is injured and unable to meet him. He delivers a message for her to meet at the county office at a specific time. Despite her injuries, Gao Hui arrives, but Zhang Xuan insists on speaking with her first. She reluctantly hands him a letter revealing Liang Zhi's involvement with the Bohai Society. Meanwhile, Zhang Xuan meets with Wei Yun Qi to discuss the situation and potential new appointments in the court. A soldier reports back that Gao Hui left the General's office in anger after a brief meeting. Zhang Xuan prepares to return to Beihai County the next morning. That night, while writing a farewell letter to Zhang Xu Tuo, Zhang Xuan is confronted by an unknown guard, leading to a tense moment.
