Summary

In the middle of the night, Li Yan Qing is awakened by a guard who informs him that Zhu Mian has been assassinated. They find Zhu Mian dead in his prison cabin, prompting Prince Zhao Kai to demand a search for the assassin. Li Yan Qing discovers a clue suggesting Zhu Mian was killed by Qing Er's Jade Maiden Sword. Confronting Qing Er, he learns her father, Hu Sheng, is alive and has been impersonating Zhang Yong. Hu Sheng reveals plans involving Zhu Mian's wealth and expresses a desire to take Qing Er away for her safety. As they prepare to escape, Zhao Kai arrives, confused by the situation. Li Yan Qing explains the truth about the assassination, assuring Zhao Kai of his loyalty and promising to thwart the plans of Song Jiang and Fang La.
