Summary

Zhao Hong Run, feeling discontent after a failed meal, is accompanied by an aloof shrine maiden and her clumsy sister, Mi Rui. As they travel in a shabby carriage, Zhao probes into their family ties with Xiong Tuo, the lord of Yang City, but the aloof maiden remains tight-lipped. Their lives are intertwined due to the Qing Gu, a cursed object, which they both seek to understand. Despite Zhao's attempts to engage her, he finds her unyielding. The journey takes a tense turn when the shrine maiden suddenly halts the carriage, drawing a sword, hinting at impending danger. The atmosphere thickens with uncertainty as Zhao realizes their precarious situation.
