Summary

In a dark underground passage, the narrator discovers living thread-like parasites controlling Old Tao's corpse. As they flee from emerging shadowy figures, they navigate through a stench-filled path littered with animal corpses. The short guard struggles to keep up but is saved by the narrator, who carries him as they encounter a locked door. Using a banknote to pick the lock, they narrowly escape the pursuing corpses. Once inside, they realize the danger isn't over, as many shadows remain in the lab building. Both characters are left feeling the threat of more horrors to come.
