Summary

Zhang Ye and Zhang Yuan Qi returned to his home after being out with friends. They were momentarily speechless as Zhang Ye picked up a box of books and stacked them on the windowsill. Zhang Yuan Qi put on a pair of slippers that Zhang Ye had thrown to her and began reading one of the books. Zhang Ye decided to cook something and made noodles, an egg, and chopped scallions. Zhang Yuan Qi suddenly closed her book and complimented Zhang Ye on his poetry. Zhang Ye offered to give her the book and sign it, but she declined. Later, Zhang Yuan Qi picked up Zhang Ye's wallet and took out 500 yuan without asking. Zhang Ye decided to drive her home instead. Zhang Yuan Qi asked to be dropped off at the Jin Yuan hotel, where she wanted to relax and avoid appointments for a couple of days. Zhang Ye drove her to the hotel, but they found that it was fully booked. They had to look for other hotels, but eventually, Zhang Ye found a room at the Fast Hotel, a less conspicuous place where they wouldn't be recognized. Zhang Ye and Zhang Yuan Qi's interactions were casual, but they also had a deeper understanding of each other. Zhang Ye felt that Zhang Yuan Qi trusted him, but she didn't always show it. Despite this, Zhang Ye was willing to help her and accommodate her needs.
