Summary

Before Hou Tu attained sainthood, he completed the Cycle of Rebirth in The Six Paths, earning significant merit. Sun Wukong, while favored by the heavens, now possesses limited merit, primarily tasked with protecting Tripitaka on their journey. The entire team of Tripitaka only garners minimal merit, explaining why only two of the four disciples achieved Buddhahood. Chu Yun warns Old Ancestor Kunpeng about harming Sun Wukong, emphasizing his investment in the monkey. The Demon King Peng, recognizing Chu Yun's power, chooses to distance himself.
