Summary

Zuo Yun Shan, a strategist in the bandit army, sends a letter to the Sui army to secure the release of his family, while secretly planning for their escape. After a disastrous defeat, Zuo Xiao You, the bandit leader, confronts Zuo Yun Shan about his mistakes and discovers that he has been colluding with the enemy. In a fit of rage, Zuo Xiao You kills Zuo Yun Shan, blaming him for their failures. The bandit army decides to return to Dun Gou Mountain, where they find their stronghold under threat from Zhang Xuan's approaching forces. Zhang Xuan learns about the situation at Dun Gou Mountain and devises a plan to attack both the stronghold and the granaries at the mountain's base.
