Summary

The chapter describes the effectiveness of the four major tribes' harassment tactics against the Guandou army's rear troops, which slowed their advance but did not hinder trench-filling operations. Tie Wa, observing the enemy's movements, plans a night attack after his troops are well-fed. As Tie Wa's light cavalry charges the Guandou army's central troops, they create chaos but face danger of encirclement. Tie Wa manages to escape with his men and returns to assist the Huai Mountain martial arts experts in preparing defenses against the Guandou army's imminent attack. The Huai Mountain experts set a trap with a second trench filled with flammable materials, successfully repelling the Guandou army's advance when they attempt to cross it. Meanwhile, Bai Wa, following orders from the four tribal lords, observes the Guandou army's movements and prepares to harass them without engaging directly, utilizing his skills to disrupt their formation.
