Chapter 18: Revitalization Year 2 Summer (Part 3). [1119]

Summary

By the Yellow River, the town of Kun Yu has deteriorated, with many buildings in ruins due to war and neglect. Despite its decline, it retains some life, with inns and taverns still operating. Once a hub for smuggling, the town's ferry business has suffered recently due to decreased traffic. Two monks, one stout and one small, enter a tavern, revealing they have money to spend. They choose to sit upstairs, where they order food. Their arrival coincides with that of a rugged martial artist, Lin Zong Wu, who is accompanied by his disciple, Ping An, and junior brother, Wang Nan Tuo. They discuss rising tensions in the south, with various factions preparing for conflict, particularly involving Liu Guang Shi and Zou Xu. As they converse, a group of armed individuals enters the tavern, led by a local underworld figure. The atmosphere grows tense as they interact with the storyteller, demanding more exciting tales. Meanwhile, the monks continue their meal, seemingly unfazed by the commotion.
