Summary

Wei Ning, accompanied by Wei Chang Sheng and others, met Cai Yong and his entourage at an inn. Cai Yong thanked Wei Ning for clearing his name, but expressed hesitation about marrying his daughter to him. Wei Ning had to impress Cai Yong through poetry, music, and painting. He played beautiful music on the guzheng and composed a poem that impressed Cai Yong. After painting a portrait of Cai Yan, Cai Yong agreed to the marriage, pleased with Wei Ning's talents. Wei Ning also expressed his desire to promote culture in Jizhou, which Cai Yong accepted, leading to a fruitful partnership.
