About Me Being Adopted by Talula (Complete).
Chapter 178: Encounter in the Bar and the Warm Sunshine of the Northern Territory. [177]
Summary
In a bar in Longmen, Orson feels out of place among the patrons as he tries to relax with Chen and Hoshiguma. Chen notes Orson’s discomfort with drinking and suggests they could leave, but Orson decides to stay. As they chat about their day, Chen explains that she had Orson pretend to be her boyfriend, which leads to confusion and playful banter with Hoshiguma. When Orson returns from a call, Hoshiguma surprises him with a strong cocktail, resulting in Orson quickly falling asleep. As the night progresses, Chen realizes she needs to take Orson home. She considers the implications of their time together, which Hoshiguma playfully misconstrues. Chen drags a still-unconscious Orson to her rental space, feeling awkward yet protective. After putting him to bed, she finds it strange to have someone else in her personal space, and eventually calls Hoshiguma for advice when she sees Orson having a nightmare. Following Hoshiguma's guidance, she lies beside Orson, wrapping him in a comforting hug. Subsequently, the narrative shifts to Orson in the Northern Territory, where he struggles with the harsh realities of life there. He reflects on a tragic incident involving a family victimized by coal poisoning, which ignites concerns about humanity’s fading kindness amidst desperation. His solace comes from a girl he lives with, known as the PhD, who brings light and optimism to his otherwise bleak existence. Over the year, their bond deepens, but Orson starts to notice the PhD’s declining health, feeling helpless as she avoids discussing her struggles. Despite his growing concern, he cherishes her hopeful dreams of a better world.Full content
