Summary

Ning Fei and Yue Chen board a small transport ship after she is poisoned by the DK worm, a dangerous brain virus. The ship's captain, concerned for Ning Fei's health, learns from her that Yue Chen saved her. As they travel, Yue Chen realizes the severity of the DK worm's effects and the implications of its use against Ning Fei. After assisting her with an antidote, he extracts the worm, but she faints. Upon regaining consciousness, Ning Fei offers Yue Chen a better deal than her pursuer, Li Wang, and they prepare to evade a pursuing spaceship.
