Summary

In a palace, the emperor seeks a consort for the Dong Hai Princess, leading noble families to hastily arrange marriages for their children. Amidst the chaos, Gao Yi Ren, a distant relative of the royal family, is appointed as the new husband. As preparations for the wedding unfold, onlookers bet on the husband’s fate, believing he won't survive the ceremony. However, during the vows, a man collapses, bleeding, and a confrontation with Mo Li ensues. Mo Li, seeking to escape, realizes he is trapped by Gui Bu Gui and Wu Mian, who reveal their manipulation of events surrounding Gao Yi Ren. They plot to lure out Ji Lao and Mo Li’s master, with Guo Zhi stepping in to play the groom's role in the scheme, as tensions rise and secrets unfold.
