Chapter 17: Mysterious Legend of the Corpse King of the Yellow River. [17]
Summary
The Yellow River, known as a mother river, is the backdrop for eerie tales, including that of the Shi Wang—corpses capable of standing at the river's bottom. Li Zong Ping and his colleague encounter a supernatural event during a boat trip when a young salesman claims to see a person submerged. The boat captain warns them it's a vengeful spirit, not a living being. Despite their disbelief, they witness a decayed figure glaring at them, leading to terror and confusion. The captain explains that upright corpses signify extreme resentment. This haunting experience leaves Li Zong Ping traumatized, causing him to withdraw from life for three years.Full content
