Summary

The story follows a group of travelers who arrive at a small temple in Anyang after a challenging journey. They convince the resident monk to let them stay, with Qiao Yi Dao posing as an elderly former monk. They dig behind the temple and find an empty wooden box that previously held a legendary Ghost Head Knife, a historical executioner's blade passed down through 13 generations since the Ming Dynasty. The knife was known for its significant role in executing officials and was traditionally sent to temples for annual worship. As they discuss the knife's history, several women arrive at the temple gate with a red-painted coffin.
