Summary

Ye Feng, while scavenging in the wild, discovers a pair of high-top jungle boots on a corpse, which he contemplates taking. He encounters a giant scarab feeding on the remains, realizing its presence signifies the previous night's activity of other scavengers. After removing the shoes and collecting foul-smelling liver chunks for bait, he drags the corpse to a nearby river. There, he observes a swarm of Indian warrior piranhas but finds them unsuitable for his needs. Disappointed by the lack of larger predators in the area, he decides to move upstream, hoping to find better fishing opportunities.
