Summary

In a tense court scenario, Wu San Si dismisses the significance of a scholar, Du Yu, who becomes embroiled in royal family politics after being caught by the Wu family. Du Yu realizes the dangers posed by the Empress Dowager and concocts a plan to aid the ambitious Wu Meiniang, who has beauty and cunning. He instructs her to slap her abusive brother, Wu San Si, to assert her strength. After proving her determination, Du Yu provides Wu Meiniang with three pouches containing strategies to navigate the treacherous palace politics: the first to gain the emperor's favor, the second to avert execution, and the third to counter the Empress's threats.
