Summary

The harsh winter in the Juyan region has frozen ambitions and left Que Qu Que Diao Nan, a former ruler of the Western Xiongnu, in a precarious position after surviving an assassination attempt. He contemplates surrendering to the Han, despite the risk of rebellion among the tribes he once ruled. Meanwhile, Zhe Lan Wang Gu Tu considers eliminating Que Qu to seize control of Hexi, but hesitates, recognizing the strategic importance of Que Qu's remaining forces. Gu Tu doubts the martial strength of the Zhe Lan and believes that a hasty attack could benefit the Han, indicating that the struggle for power in Hexi is far from over.
