Summary

Tang Wu Lin and his sister Na Er share a heartfelt moment under the starlight, where Na Er asks if Tang Wu Lin would miss her if she left. Tang Wu Lin reassures her that he would miss her and promises to protect her. The next day, Tang Wu Lin wakes up early, excited to buy a soul spirit with his father, Tang Zi Ran. Tang Zi Ran reminds him that getting a suitable soul spirit isn't easy and that it's not guaranteed they'll find one. The story takes a brief detour to explain the history of the Spirit Transmission Tower and the three continents: the Douluo Continent, the Heaven Dou Continent, and the Star Luo Continent. The Spirit Transmission Tower is a powerful organization that has been around for ten thousand years and has branches across the three continents. Tang Wu Lin and his father arrive at the Spirit Transmission Tower in Aolai City, a three-story building that is the largest in the city. Inside, they meet a Spirit Master who explains the process of buying a soul spirit. Tang Wu Lin is surprised to learn that the prices are higher than he expected: seventy thousand for a ten-year white spirit and one million for a hundred-year yellow spirit.
