Chapter 16: Escape. [16]

Summary

In the mountains, the Eagle Warriors from Heng'an Prefecture relentlessly pursued Xu Le and his group, driven by a fierce loyalty and the need for revenge after losing comrades. With over 2,300 men, they sealed off paths and communicated through signal arrows, determined to catch the fleeing merchants who had abandoned valuable goods. As night fell, the exhausted Eagle Warriors discovered pack horses laden with sought-after cargo. Despite their grim expressions, they were resolute in their pursuit. Meanwhile, Xu Le and his small team moved eastward, relieved to have evaded capture, but concerned about the financial repercussions of their lost goods. Xu Le remained confident, asserting they would seek restitution from Liu Wuzhou.
